A Safe Place to Stay. Chance to Recharge.

A safe, welcoming place to stay where participants feel supported, and families can take a well-earned break with confidence.

Respite, Done
With Genuine Care.

Short-term accommodation, sometimes called respite, gives NDIS participants a safe and comfortable place to stay away from home for a short period of time. It can be a planned break, a time of transition, or simply a chance to enjoy new experiences in a supported environment.

During an STA stay, participants receive personalised support with daily living, personal care, and community activities, all from experienced support workers who take the time to get to know them.

Our Approach

Care That Starts With
Genuinely Knowing You.

At Mazcare, we believe that great care starts with genuinely knowing the person you’re supporting. That’s why our approach to STA is built around the individual, not a roster or a service schedule.

Person-Centred Support

We follow each participant’s existing routines, habits, and preferences from day one. Whether that means a specific meal at a specific time, a favourite morning activity, or a particular way of doing things, we take note, and we follow through.

Culturally Respectful Care

We have experience supporting Muslim families from a range of backgrounds, including Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Bangladesh, Singapore, Lebanon, and Indonesia, while welcoming participants from all backgrounds across Western Sydney. Language, food, religious practices, and cultural values are always respected because real comfort means feeling understood, not just accommodated.

Family Communication

We know that handing over care, even temporarily, can feel uncertain. That’s why we keep families informed. You’ll know how your loved one is going, what they’ve been up to, and that they’re in safe hands.

Not Just a Break. A Chance to Grow.

An STA stay benefits the participant — and gives families genuine room to breathe.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions, Honest Answers.

What is Short Term Accommodation (STA)?

STA is a funded NDIS support that provides participants with a temporary place to stay away from home, with 24/7 care and support as needed. It gives families and carers a chance to rest while their loved one is in safe, professional hands.

How long can a participant stay?

STA can range from a single overnight stay to several weeks, depending on what’s in the participant’s NDIS plan. We’ll work with you and the participant’s support coordinator to plan a stay that works for everyone.

Can STA support participants with complex needs?

Yes. We have extensive experience supporting participants with complex needs, including behaviour support requirements. Our team is trained, calm, and experienced, and we collaborate with Allied Health practitioners where needed.

Will cultural and dietary requirements be respected?

Absolutely. Cultural respect is one of our core values. We take the time to understand each participant’s background, dietary requirements, religious practices, and cultural preferences before the stay begins.

Giving Families Peace of Mind.

If you are looking for support that feels personal, respectful, and reliable, we would love to hear from you. Whether you are new to the NDIS, changing providers, or simply exploring your options, our team is here to help you find the right path forward.
